STS Access to LCR
As the STS for our stake, I frequently have to email Bishops and others about changes or updates to technology. I do not have access to LCR which means the ability to email all Bishops or Clerks or FHC directors has to be maintained by me separately in a spreadsheet. Is there a reason why the Stake Technology Clerks do not have access to LCR?

Yup. As STS, I'm sometimes asked to provide technical support to newly called leaders, but can't because of lack of visibility in LCR. Even basic access would be better than none.
As far as emailing bishops, I maintain my own list from CDOL, which (fortunately) we still have access to.

At minimum, I'd like access to the Access Table. That way I'd know if someone is supposed to have access to something.

Re: STS Access to LCR
As an STS, I would like access to "Send a Message"; there are other parts of LCR that it would be nice to see (like when an upcoming stake conference is scheduled), but I can understand restricting access. It is frustrating when I need to communicate with bishoprics about technology changes affecting their ward/building (like an email asking about how their ward is currently using meeting technologies prior to creating a Zoom account for their ward). I ended up sending the email to the stake clerk, who then sent it out to the bishoprics in the stake, but of course that meant the stake clerk also needed to forward every response to me. I don't consider that "Effective Communication".

As is oft-mentioned, this is simply a User-to-User Forum, and it's unlikely any changes will occur by posting here (even if a developer happens to be lurking around, they aren't the ones with decision-making-abilities). The best bet is posting feedback directly via the link on the webpage. As an STS, I would like access to "Send a Message"; there are other parts of LCR that it would be nice to see...

You might ask to be called as a Stake Communication Specialist. That will get you Send a Message. It will not get you the online stake conference schedule. You have to be in the stake presidency, or a clerk or executive secretary for that one.brysoncg1985 wrote:As an STS, I would like access to "Send a Message"; there are other parts of LCR that it would be nice to see (like when an upcoming stake conference is scheduled), but I can understand restricting access.

I would hope the stake would add the stake conference to the stake calendar (available to all members) shortly after they learn the dates.
It sounds like there's a communication problem.

That would imply that they knew to look online and get the dates. Sometimes the visiting general authority calls first. Oops. So much for advanced planning.russellhltn wrote:I would hope the stake would add the stake conference to the stake calendar (available to all members) shortly after they learn the dates.

Re: STS Access to LCR
Also: I have heard of those dates sometimes changing. As it is, my stake has a stake conference scheduled for late February/early March (not sure when), but nobody has added it to the stake calendar yet.
Being called as a Stake Communication Specialist was discussed - yes, that is an option, but it is annoying that it currently requires an additional calling to get access to something that exposes almost no additional information that is not accessible via LDS Tools (I'm assuming that it can still email those who have "hidden" their email, which would be the exception).

Re: STS Access to LCR
I do find it a little ironic that the manual for Stake Technology Specialists at https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/stu ... s?lang=eng mentions LCR and "member lists" under "Additional Resources". Apparently it hasn't been updated in the last 4-5 years or so since they changed LCR access for STS's?
