Re: LCR “Send a Message” application NOT sending to yahoo.com accounts
It may not be Yahoo's fault. Unfortunately, we don't get to see the reason(s) why the email got rejected. Depending on how strict Yahoo and AOL have their server settings for receiving email, they may reject them if the church's outgoing email server(s) doesn't have one or more of the following configured correctly: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and more recently, BIMI. These are very technical and are not something end users have to deal with. Just know that they are in place to try and reduce spam, fraudulent email, and phishing attacks.

A high level contact is needed between the Church IT department and those two ISP's. The issue can probably be resolved by an explanation and request to them from HQ.

Even better then.
Workaround is to harvest the yahoo and aol emails from the member list and then forward bulk emails to them.

My wife is the ward email communications specialist. She has found this problem with aol, yahoo, and windstream addresses. She has a list of members with those addresses, and sends separate messages to them from her personal email account.

Those account holders can help the situation by putting ChurchofJesusChrist.org on their white list. I did that a few years ago for my Yahoo account and have yet to run into any delivery problems in getting messages sent to me from Send a Message.

Trying that, but so far the same results. Think the problem may be further up the stream.

If you have an aol/yahoo account, I'd take up the matter with them directly. I'd think they'd be far more responsive to their users than from an entity that they may view as a spammer.garystroble wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 1:39 pm Trying that, but so far the same results. Assuming they view the Church that way it is up to the Church to clear that up.
I would think that an ISP would be more interested in speaking to the Church than to potentially hundreds of thousands of email accounts, one at a time.
Meanwhile, not a peep on the send a message page nor any kind of official notice from the Church about the problem. Most units will be clueless about this unless they see the threads here.
