New Children and Youth Protection Training

I would have thought that any updated training, such as that announced today (Notice, 26 May 2020. Children and Youth Protection Training), would have included an update to new General Handbook references instead of the old Handbook 2. Even the training launch page still refers to the old handbook.

It was hard for me to tell what has actually changed in the online training. But since it is "new", I suppose there will be a rush for everyone to complete it again in the next three weeks.

This makes no sense. Think it is supposed to be a reminder, but there is no indication of that. The wording is virtually the same as the original bulletin in August, but also still references Ward Young Men's Presidencies. Somebody is asleep at the switch on this one as the original training was good for 3 years. It has only been 9 months. In addition, any decent training program should tell you that you have already done the training when you launch it while logged in. For now suggest we wait for further direction and clarification.

I don't believe that there was an email sent to the Ward Council regarding this new bulletin either.

A new bulletin today clarifies that it was meant as a reminder and that the original training is still good for 3 years.

Well, that does answer the question. And my three years has bumped out a few months, as well. [smile]
