TEM for Family History Centers?

I've been called to make sure our family history centers are up-to-date and in good shape. I just finished reading through a bunch of the pages on mhtech.lds.org and found that Tivoli Endpoint Manager (TEM) is being used but this link only provides a download for clerk computers.

Should TEM be used for FHC computers? If so, is there a download link somewhere? It appears that all the computers are currently using Landesk.

I'm not sure why, but that somehow strikes me as odd. The Family History Computers falls under the Stake Technology Specialist. Unless you've been called to assist him in this area, your calling might be "rogue".

The prior post points you to the website for FHC computers. Note that this is only for FHCs authorized by CHQ. Wards and Stakes have been known to create their own. Those are not supported. One way to find out is if the FHC has it's own unit number separate from any ward or stake.

I was very loose in my terminology. I've officially been called to be one of the stake technology specialists. There are others and I'm specifically focusing on the FHCs that exist within the stake.

...One way to find out is if the FHC has it's own unit number separate from any ward or stake.

EDFcsn is an application that FHC headquarters is using to provide some of the functions that LANDesk did

If the PCs are new, since LANDesk is still needed on the official FHC computers, install that first, that is required before going back and installing Tivoli. That is because of the need to be sure the filtering works first before putting Tivoli on. Test filtering after installing LANDesk. use http://filteraudit.cjclds.net/ and if it shows a blocked page message then you're set. Anotehr way if I screwed up on the URL is to go to billiongraves.com as they have a Youtube video on the main page, if that video shows a blocked page message, you're OK, then you can install Tivoli.

Tivoli will do a forced reboot after installing. Once that is done, click on the Tivoli item in the system tray and open it. That will bring up the 'Offers' page. Sophos will be one of them, and it will say it's for Family History Centers. Install that.

Anything else in the offers is largely optional, so consult with the FHC Director as to what to add. Last week a computer was fixed in my FHC, the STS didn't have the time to reinstall all the software, what had happened caused all the registry files for just about everything to be corrupted, even had to reinstall browsers and other things too. On a 7mbps connection, it took me an hour to load in LANDesk, Tivoli, and Sophos, but only about 15-20 minutes to get six other software items on that machine that we put on the computers in my center so they would work again.
