Transferring Zoom Setting from account linked to a personal email address.

Hi

Looking for some advise on this idea and if it would work when signing up for the new global zoom account.

Most of my units registered for a area purchased zoom account but used a personal email address for the account eg joe.blogs@gmail.com. Trying to following new guidence and using a genric address for the new global account but also want to transfer the existing setting from the old zoom accounts.

I understand you can transfer the settings provided you use the same email address as on the area account eg if we enroll the new global zoom account with the same address joe.blogs@gmail.com the setting will all transfer.

If I was to change the existing area account email from joe.blogs@gmail.com to a generic account my.ward@gmail.com and then tried to do the transfer on meet.churchofjesuschrist.org with the my.ward@gmail.com would the setting and meetings transfer.

In theory, yes. And I think that would be the preferred order.

Just be aware that I've seen a number of posts from people who had problems transitioning their accounts to the church account. So, whatever you do, not try this changeover just before Sunday.

I'd start by making sure the accounts the units have been using only have one login. I suspect that's one of the issues preventing a smooth transfer.

Thanks for the reply. I had seen some post on tranfer issues. I'm running late on this and it is not helping that the enrollment has not worked for 2 of my units some error in zoom activations.

I assume i just change the email address in the profile settings? Does that change the email that is used for the log in.

I'd think so, but that would be something that would need to be directed to Zoom.

I do know that changing the email after connecting it to the Church account creates some problems. So far, they're not really operational issues, but rather it breaks the tools the church gives us to mange them (the meet page).
