Gospel living app
We have a non-member who attends our ward regularly. Is there a way to add her to circles?

Not currently. Since it is unclear whether or not nonmembers will have functionality in the app you may want to send feedback from within the app asking if there will be support for nonmembers.

According to this article, it sounds like some type of feature will be coming. But how it will work and when is unknown.

Re: Gospel living app
I'm the newly called communications specialist in our ward. We're trying to get everyone enthusiastic about using Circles to consolidate our messaging. The big hang-up is that no one gets notifications of pending messages from their Circles, even when we select the notification option. Without notifications, we can't assume our members will log into the app frequently just to see if there is anything new in their Circle. What gives? The app promises notifications, but it's not happening.
Re: Gospel living app
Actually there is a notification. By default the app is set to block notifications. Users need to unblock notifications for the app in your phone notifications settings. With the notifications blocked in the phones settings then the only remaining notification is the small red dot on the app icon. And if that icon is not on your home page it will not be noticeable.
Re: Gospel living app
Note that, if I remember correctly from other posts on the forum, parents will not get notifications for messages in their children's circles – they can view their children's circles, but they're not considered members of those circles. They should get notifications from circles they're members of, though, if they have notifications turned on in settings... But if the circles become too chatty, it's likely that members will turn the notifications off. I don't think there's a way to turn notifications off for one circle while leaving them on for another. I don't like to receive a lot of push notifications, so on my phone, I have them turned off for everything except text messages and calendar events. I would love it if there were a way to redirect notifications to text or email – where I already spend time on both my phone and computer, and where notifications can be controlled more granularly.

As a note, the Gospel Living app for Android was updated yesterday (March 4th).
