changing the language setting in MLS - Windows 7 doesn't work

I tried changing the language setting of MLS to Spanish per the instructions in the wiki
http://tech.lds.org/wiki/Changing_the_L ... ing_in_MLS. This works on an XP system but on a Windows 7 system the
product.properties file is updated back to English as MLS opens. Any suggestions?

I'll have to try it on a live MLS installation later, but on a test installation of MLS 3.4.2 the language change instructions you referenced do indeed work.
You might want to take a look at mlslog.txt (located in the same folder as product.properties) to see if it yields any clues. Move to the end of it and look for a line similar to:

[I] {Sun 2012-01-01 08:06:33} System language: es
Then see if there are any other lines that might indicate a change to the language.
