Opening MLS Forms Data Format ?

#1

Post by atticusewig »

Any chance that we can get an official spec on
the .xml and .dtd files that are used to create the
Forms in MLS available in the "Print Form" command ?

While a lot of it can be deduced, and reverse-engineered
from the forms we already have to choose from, it
would be nice to know that it was something that
wouldn't make the brethren or the church lawyers
unhappy.

I'm thinking it might be nice to be able to create local
forms for things such as Youth Conference or Scout
camp, and then have the data filled in automagically
from the MLS data.

Also, provided that it was okay to do so, and a spec
published, perhaps someone could create an GUI
form-designer as an open-source project for those who
don't want to fiddle with the .dtd and .xml files directly.

So, any chance the MLS Form data format will be opened up ?

Thanks,

I also would like this information, personally the ward list that is created by MLS is not so appealing in appearance, neither is that phone list and to be able to custom generate a form would be a lot nicer then having to export the CSV and use that to make these other two lists.
