Ward LUCR for bishop requires ordination date. Why?

In stake MLS, when you fill out a Ward Leader and Unit Change Request to submit information on a newly-called bishop, there are some required fields. Obviously you need to specify the person, the active date, the set apart date, and who set him apart, so it makes sense that those are required fields.

There are separate fields for the date he was ordained as a bishop and for who ordained him. For a first-time bishop, that makes perfect sense that this could be different from the setting apart, and that the ordination must be recorded. But when the newly-called bishop has previously served as a bishop, there is no need to ordain him again. And yet MLS requires those fields to be filled in. Your only choices are to hope the bishop recalls when he was first ordained and who did it (which may well have been two or more decades ago), or to duplicate the setting apart information in the ordination fields, even though that is not the correct information, and hope that when CHQ processes the request they will see that he is already ordained and ignore that part of the LUCR submission.

Has anyone else run into that situation?

Excellent question. If the information is already in the database, it should be presented without having to remember and enter it.
