Local Mission Contributions from Another Ward

We have a case where soomeone in another Ward made a contributribution to go to a missionary in our Ward. We got a notice that the contribution had been made and that we needed to adjust our MLS to account for it; but how is this done? It can't go into donations since the money has already been donated in another Ward. Does the money just appear in our local Mission account and we add an entry like the Missionary Expense entries with a reference number (but a negative amount to show that it is a credit?) Any help would be appreciated.
