Assignment vs Calling

My thought is we need to discriminate based on assignment/calling in MLS so we don't have to scratch our heads and recollect whether the person has to be sustained/released/set apart each time the person in a position is changed.

I agree. And I do not know of a way to do that the way MLS is currently configured, short of a custom calling with "assignment" in the title, or setting up a Custom Talents and Interests field.

WHow do we do this properly in MLS? Right now we are putting these positions in without a set apart check, but it still requires a sustaining date. And there is no way to distinguish between callings and assignments.

I think it makes sense for the "sustained date" to be the date the member starts serving, regardless of whether it is in a calling or assignment.
