Clerks tend to be called as clerks because they pay attention to details and try to keep clutter to a minimum. I've been clerking for 25 plus years, and I used to wonder if I would ever get my job done right so I could move on. Now I believe that I'm special, and have been doing too good of a job for all these years. I would very much like to clear inactive users just because I really don't think they need to be there (a.k.a. clutter removal).

It seems to me that financial history should be stored as a picture in time (all fields captured and stored), and not draw from tables and lists to fill in some fields. Regardless of how it's written, if MLS was built to act in part as a financial software that maintains an audit trail regarding actions, changes, or adjustments, then restructuring the software controling that audit trail may be an extensive endeavor not necessarily worth engaging in for relatively minor irritations.

I still would like to be able to clean out clutter, just because my personality leads me to such efforts. Since I don't know all the purposes for some components or tables, I can offer suggestions for change, but I tend to make do with the tools I'm given.

I've got a ward claiming they can't delete a MLS user that moved out 4 years ago. My questions are:

- How can I verify when their login was last used on a financial transaction?

- Any other issues that could affect removal? Anyone know when the "clock" starts? Is it the last financial transaction, or the year they were inactivated if they've ever had a financial transaction?
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

I know of no way to verify when a login was last used.

It's related to a fiscal year. So if a user participated in a transaction on January 1, 2006, they can't be removed until 2010. But in any case, you should start to remove the user, which will delete them if it can, or deactivate them if it can't. Then when the fiscal year rolls around when they are no longer connected to a transaction in the system, the user will be automatically removed.
