If I go to the https://webcast.churchofjesuschrist.org/ site, it says "Unauthorized Access Error: Logging you out now." How do I get this access? I have clerk rights I believe.

What is Teradek VidiU, I'm not familar with it. Is it something every ward is supposed to have?

Both webcasting and the Teradek are things used by the STS and his assistants. You would have to be called as a STS or ASTS to login to the webcast portal. The Teradek is typically used by a stake to broadcast stake conference to outlying wards and branches.

It's about a $700 piece of gear that still needs a HDMI camera to feed it. I think they were issued one per stake as it was intended for stake conferences. But all you need to feed the church webcast system is something that can do a RTMP stream. Something like Larix Broadcaster or OBS.

Today our ward streamed its first sacrament meeting, using nothing more than an iPhone 8 running Larix Broadcaster. By all accounts, it worked well, though we might try to improve the audio quality by either using an external mic plugged into the Lightning connector and mounted on the same boom as the pulpit microphone, or add some sound dampening to minimize the noise from the congregation. The iPhone was connected to a power adapter to ensure we didn't have to deal with any battery drain issues (since the screen is turned on throughout), so any external microphone solution would still need to ensure the phone got power as well.
The iPhone was held by a JOBY GripTight Mount Pro from Best Buy ($29.99 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/joby-gript ... Id=5120800) mounted atop a photographic lighting stand ($49.95 Adorama Flashpoint 13' heavy duty light stand https://www.adorama.com/fpls13.html) that I would normally use for still photography. The stand was on the floor just in front of the puplit, which gave a decent view of the person speaking to either side, and also allowed a variety of people's heights (since there's no way to adjust that once it's set up).
Obviously you could use a shorter and cheaper light stand if you wanted to. I just used the one I had.
