Surplus "Other" Funds

Once upon a time, there was official guidance on what to do with Other funds that couldn't be refunded back to the member: send it back to SLC. Searching the forum, I can find the address and instructions (viewtopic.php?p=162985#p162985). But I can't actually find the guidance in the Record-Keeping topic of the Help Center. The forum post is, at this post, 4 years old. Are there any current instructions on what to do with any surplus?

There used to be a comment at the end of the article in the Help Center titled The "Other" Category which is where the quote in that topic came from. I don't have access to the finance articles anymore so I don't know if it's still there. Although the comments in the Help Center are from other users they are moderated and vetted by church employees so can usually be considered valid.

But the best way to find out is probably to call the Global Service Department.

I doubt if the guidance has changed. But I'm not finding "chapter and verse". I'd suggest contacting support.

The alternative is to wait for the audit. I'd expect them to ask a few questions about funds sitting there.

It appears all comments have been eliminated. You can leave feedback, but that's it.

I renamed our Scout Camp fund as YM camp and activities. Our young men don't typically carry over a large amount of unspent funds to the next year. However, our young women are determined to hold annual fundraisers despite having a fairly large carry over from the previous year. Each time they mention an upcoming fundraiser, I remind them of their carry over balance, and allow the ward council to decide what to do about it.
