How do you find a member's family's home ward?
We have received several membership records from Salt Lake's unknown records and their prior unit is the same as current unit.
How can we use the parents record number to find the home ward and be able to contact them?

Since the prior unit was your unit, it's most likely that it was your ward that sent the records to 'unknown'. They're being sent back as a chuch-wide effort to give it a second try.
Contacting the family is something CHQ will do, so I wouldn't consern yourself with that unless the family is known to your ward.

Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
