Windows Password

#1

Post by rggoodie »

When our Bishop arrived this morning, Windows prompted him for a new password.
He changed it from the standard password used by the Church to a new password.
Do I need to change it back to the standard loc.......?

For better security, the church has moved away from the common password previously used for Windows accounts and encourages each unit to establish their own unique password. Of course, the new PW will need to be distributed to those in the ward that need it - which is a considerably smaller list now that LCR has evolved.

Side note: While clerk computers operating with Windows 10 periodically prompts for a new password, the new password can be the old password. The Group Policy Editor has not been configured to require any minimum change in the old password.

Assuming you know the new password, it should unlock itself after a bit and you can try again.

If that fails, check with your stake technology specialist. Frequently the stake will set up a password.

If that fails, you'll have to call support.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
