Installing unsigned drivers

A few years ago, a ward purchased a Brother MFC All-in-One laser printer for the clerk's office, mainly so they could make copies of receipts without having to use the library copier on the far side of the building. Because of the new paperless finance system, they asked if I could install the scanner driver so they could scan receipts to a file.

Here's the problem; the Brother drivers for this machine are NOT signed by Microsoft and won't install with the UEFI set to "Secure Boot". Unfortunately, the UEFI is password protected and CHQ made it clear (understandably) that they couldn't give out the password. Brother made it clear that the printer is of the age where they won't be submitting the drivers to Microsoft for digital signing, so I'm kind of at an impasse.

Short of buying a new printer, am I out of options?

If the ward purchased the printer new, did it come with a CD/DVD?

Yep, but according to Brother, none of the drivers for that printer were ever signed.

Depending on the scanner's features, they might be able to scan to a USB drive and sneaker-net it over.

Anything else sounds like "circumventing security". :/

Seems easy enough to scan in by taking a photo with a phone.

We have found that most of our members would prefer to send their receipts electronically via email (many businesses will provide them that way so no scanning is needed). The few that come in paper copy are currently being entered as we were before with the paper copies filed in the financial records. We have toyed with scanning "everything" but have not gone down that path yet. For the very few receipts we do need to scan, we sneaker-net them on a thumb-drive from the copier in the library (it is on the other side of the building for us as well). It is a rare enough event that it is not a significant problem, especially since we have no scan capability in the clerk's office.
