Just a comment about your page. I noticed that the picture on your home page and at least one other page appears to have the official church logo on it. From what I understand, that can only be used on official church items. We are not even allowed to use that on our Sacrament Meeting bulletin.

So, even if the creation of the page is approved, I doubt you can use that logo or picture.

I'm wondering why no one read the whole Handbook 2, 22.1.22. Stake and Ward web sites can be created they just have to use the official Church Internet resources. It even goes on to explaning how to request approval to use the official Church resources to create a stake or ward web site.

So if you want a site then just use the proper channels as explaned in the handbook. I don't think its any harder than that.

The question is, are there any "official Church Internet resources" available to the ward/stake beyond the current classic LUWS, directory, calendar, announcements, etc.

The handbook references the LDS Site Development Guide. That guide states "Most stakes in the U.S. and Canada already have stake and ward websites available. If a unit does not have a site, the stake president can request one".

If anyone does know about any additional resources, I'm sure we'd all like to hear about it.

However, you do make a good point. The handbook does say: "On occasion, official Church Web sites may be approved for other purposes, such as multistake projects, special events, and young single adult activities and organization. To seek approval for such a site, the organization’s priesthood leader submits a request stating the purpose and need to a member of the Presidency of the Seventy or the Area Presidency."
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
