You may be restricted in naming the class as communicated earlier in this thread, but you should be able to make whatever class membership adjustments your YW President desires. I no longer have access to check, but if the new changes to LCR operate like class assignments in MLS, you will be able to push specific YW records manually into a different class. If you do that, you may have to take responsibility to manually move them next year unless you reset the entire organization to the standard age groupings.

Yes, I see how I can do that to move the one YW down, however it doesn’t seem appropriate to force adjust an 18 yr old into a 15-17 class.

I'm not sure if it's appropriate, but I can see why it might be desired.

If she had started late, or was held back a grade, you might have a 18 yr old high school junior. Moving her into the 15-17 group would be keeping her with her classmates.

Was trying to say that based on the prior comments about the tech being designed intentionally to keep “age groups” together, it appeared the intent was not to have classes created that didn’t align with the Age Group concept as outlined in the official communications. I was looking for some sort of confirmation on my understanding.

With US school registration calendars it will be common to have Juniors turning 18 during the year they transition from Juniors to Seniors.

The “seniors” class would generally be those already 18 and turning 19 but not yet graduated as of the January transition date.

I'm late to this thread. What are the rules currently setup for auto assignment by age? Would 11-year-old girls turning 12 in 2020 appear in whichever class covers 12 year olds? As long as the software is tied to the January 1 transition, it would be nice if the naming matched other use cases in other ward organizations. Sunday School and Primary appear to be named based on age at December 31 of the previous year, while Young Women appear to be based on age at December 31 of the current year?

Our Bishopric had been working on the same nomenclature as Primary and Sunday School, splitting Young Women 11-14 and 15-17, but for now we're needing to shift to 12-15 and 16-18 instead.

Yes.

Can we manually move a YW from one class to another similar to the process for Sunday School classes?

You shouldn't need to. The young women should have advanced to the correct class for you at the beginning of the year.

Edit: I guess you might want to change what the age groups are. In that case you just re-organize the classes to match your desired grouping

We can't find a way to change the age group name. For example, consistent with the discussion above, we should have a Class 14-15. However, the software has Class 14 and the editing features don't seem to allow changing the name. Any thoughts?
