Paper Record Retention Policy
I am going through the cabinets of old paper and would like to know what the retention policy is for keeping paper records. How far back should we keep paper records of such items as tithing deposits, expense reports, finance transactions, etc. Am I ok to throw out and shred any paper that is older than three years old? Any paperwork that I should keep paper copies longer than three years?

Re: Paper Record Retention Policy
In the US it's three years plus current. So, come Jan 1, you can shred anything 2016 or before. (Keeping 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020).
The period does vary by country. In some, it's 5 years.
