Changing the Bishop

I've been informed by the Stake Clerk that it is my responsibility as the Ward Clerk to keep all of the Unit callings straight and current, including the calling of Bishop.
Our Bishop was released today, and I am not able to find a way to release him from the calling, nor have I been able to find a mechanism within LCR to replace him with the new Bishop. I can (and have) released both of his counselors, but no joy on the Bishop's position itself. Can anyone suggest a route I can take? After telling me I needed to handle it, the Stake Clerk has not responded to my request for instruction.

When the stake notifies Church headquarters that the new bishop has been sustained and set apart, the Church will update that calling. The stake has to notify Salt Lake, probably through LCR (I used the stake MLS computer last time).
The ward cannot do it. If the stake clerk does not want to do it, the stake president (or possibly a counselor) will have to do it.

I think the change on bishops is done by the stake. When they change the bishop, the counselors will auto-release.
I would report to the stake clerk that it is not within the ward's power to change the bishop, but you'll be happy to update all other callings.

Yup. Been there, done that a couple times. As soon as the stake president ordains the bishop, I pull the stake president into my office and have him change the bishop in the system. Then the fun begins. Record new counselors. Update the signature card. Replace MLS accounts. Order new donation envelopes, windowed envelopes, and non-windowed envelopes. And so on.

The list of callings that can begin the process of recording the bishop is the stake president, his counselors, stake clerk, stake assistant clerk, stake assistant clerk - membership, stake executive secretary. After that is going to have to be a second approver from that same list.
