This most likely indicates an issue with the firewall/internal AP itself. Contact the GSC to resolve the issue.

My FMG manager, with my assistance over the phone, has just successfully activated a replacement satellite receiver and deactivated the one swapped out. I think he was quite impressed.

One observation, when hovering over a point in the usage history chart, it gives the date, but all zeros for the hour/min/sec fields.
Yes, the date/time stamps of the Detailed Statistics ("Detailed Logging" screen) are normalized to the user's local time. But date/time on the history graph is UTC time--showing the statistics as of midnight UTC each day. It was troublesome to convert the graph date/time to local time, so the graph date/time remains UTC.

"BW In" represents data received FROM the Internet, and "BW Out" means data sent TO the Internet.

Not to mention a 1-week gap from 10/4 to 10/15. Not a big deal, and a non-issue after a couple of months, but something that did give me cause for concern. I didn't think our system was down for that long. <grin>
Prior to the new TM deployment some firewall data was lost. The building networks were not affected (meaning they functioned normally)--just some data was lost. In a few weeks the graph will look normal again.
russellhltn wrote:I noticed the "tag" next to the firewall S/N. "MTG" appears to mean a "Meetinghouse" configuration. "INS" is for "Institute".
The tag next to the firewall serial number indicates the installed firewall configuration. "MTG" = Meetinghouse, "SEM" = Seminary, and "INS" = Institute.

TM looks best on mobile devices with screen resolution of 1024x768 or better. While the tool is generally usable on smaller screens, it is a better user experience on higher resolution screens (e.g. tablet or PC). TM is not developed as a standalone app (although that would be cool). There is one known limitation for TM running on a mobile device: TM must be used in "public" (not "private") browsing mode.

Here are reasons why TM 2.0 was developed.

With the deployment of new satellite receivers, a new tool was needed for managing and supporting the receivers. The decision was made to integrate satellite receiver management into Technology Manager. But since the existing TM code was old, we decided to completely rewrite TM in a modern programming language; and while doing so, update the TM interface while fixing, moving, and adjusting some TM features. The updated code will make it easier for TM developers to program the tool and modify or add features.

Here is more information about satellite receiver management through Technology Manager.

Satellite Receiver Specific Actions
In TM a technical specialist may be able to do the following actions from the TM satellite receiver details page (depending on user's CDOL position) :
  • Language Change – The languages associated with a receiver can be changed by selecting a different language pair from the drop-down menu next to “Audio” in the "Satellite Definition" section.
  • Video Mute – Video mute forces the receiver to a black screen for five seconds. This is useful when troubleshooting properties with multiple receivers to ensure the correct receiver is being worked on.
  • Reassign – Used when moving a receiver from one property to another.
  • Replace – Used to replace a failed unit with a functioning receiver.
  • Deactivate – Used to remove a receiver from a site where it is no longer needed.

Thank you for the update. It is a welcome change.

I am having one issue with the new site that started yesterday. The usage statistics is failing with an error message saying:
Unable to get a successful return from url: http://mhmonitoring.lds.org/api/reports ... irewall_id>, Message:
Is anybody else getting this message or should I be taking this personally?

I get it if I click on View Detailed Statistics. But you should never take any of this personally. These are simply computers and other devices doing exactly what they were programmed to do.

My guess is that the View Detailed Statistics link is bad and needs to be fixed (everywhere). Time to send feedback.

It appears that the new release does not take advantage of SSO. Are there plans to restore that in the future?

It does take advantage of SSO, but behaves in the same way as the online store. The online store requires a separate sign in, using your normal LDS Account credentials, even when signed into LDS.org.

It used to work on the new site, but it's not working for me now.
