Out with the Cisco APs, in with the Meraki

Postby russellhltn » Mon Aug 20, 2018 7:20 pm

My local FM Group has informed me that the church is changing out the old Cisco 1041N APs for Merakis.

Hopefully, this will be plug and play as far as the mounting bracket goes.

Unfortunately, no. The new Meraki units are rectangular, so you must use the new mounting hardware. They are relatively simple to activate, though.

Just make sure to take a picture of the serial number or have a laptop/phone handy to enter the serial number into TM to activate, otherwise you'll have to get back up there and get it (I know from experience. I had to locate a new unit the previous tech had installed in the drop ceiling, but never activated.)
