Printing donation batch report for individual categories

Printing donation batch report for individual categories

I am a finance clerk. We have been having YW submit payment for girls camp through the donation process under the Other-Authorized Member-Financed Activities to a subcategory for Girls Camp. I am trying to figure out how to print a report in LCR that shows only that information (YW leaders wanted a report showing who has paid what). When I go to the donation batch I can select to view only that subcategory information but when I click on the print Icon it prints out the the entire donation batch (tithing, fast offering ect..). Is there somewhere in LCR that you can generate custom reports?

Way back when I used MLS, I could run an income and expense report and select just one category. I think that would give you what you want.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Unfortunately, this is information that is no longer easily available. The Income and Expense Details screen can show all of the donations to a single category but it shows the amount for each batch rather than for each donor. You have to click through to see the donors in the batch and, as you say, it then shows all of them rather than that one category. So there is currently nothing that corresponds to the report that was available in MLS. I believe that I submitted feedback a couple years ago when I was a ward finance clerk about this. But I'd suggest submitting feedback about it in LCR as well. But that's not a short term solution.

And unfortunately I don't think you can put finance information on a custom LCR report. But I don't have access to custom reports so I can't say for certain.

If you are a clerk with finance edit permissions or a member of the bishopric then:
  • Got to LCR > Finance > Budget.
  • Select the leadership role "Young Women" in the leadership position drop-down list box.
  • In the "Other Assignments" section click "Girls Camp Balance".
    Note: the Other:AMFA subcategory "Girls Camp" should have the Young Women organization checked as having permissions in the Budget > Manage Categories tab.
  • At the Other Summary page click the Print button.
  • On the Print Options pop-up select Budget Details Report and then ...
  • Click the Print button on the same pop-up for Print Options.
All the donations to the Girls Camp will be included in the budgetDetailReport.pdf.

The Young Women presidency should be able to view and print the same budgetDetailReport.pdf following the steps below provided the Young Women organization is set to have permissions in the Budget > Manage Categories tab for the Girls Camp category:
  • Got to LCR > Finance > Budget.
  • In the "Other Assignments" section click "Girls Camp Balance".
  • At the Other Summary page click the Print button.
  • On the Print Options pop-up select Budget Details Report and then ...
  • Click the Print button on the same pop-up for Print Options.

Wow! That is indirect but cool that it's available. I'm curious how you found that. Definitely good to know.

Curiosity. I always check out new things. In this case when organizations got the ability to see their portion of the budget in LCR I wanted to see how much they could see and how much I could let them see.

I often do the same but I guess I haven't tried the print functions. I just assumed they would jut print what you can already see on the screen. Bad assumption obviously.

In the instructions I can select YW in the leadership role drop down, but I don’t see an other assignments section. All I can find is a list of expenses taken from the YM budget, not AMFA

When you select LCR > Finance > Budget and change the leadership role to Young Women you should see the Other Assignments section just below the Young Women Balance section as shown in the attached image. Note the category will not show if the organization has not been given viewing permissions for the Other:AMFA category.

To see the details of the Other:AMFA category click the category title hyperlink. In the image the category is "Young Women Camp 2022 Balance".
