Reporting Tithing on mls

#1

Post by sgkhanyile »

My name is Siyanda, I have been recently called as a Stake Technologist in the Durban South Africa Stake.
In one of the wards they are having a problem reporting their tithing, well let me say they are able to key in the donation slips but when it comes to authorization only the bishops account is available
Please help

The counselors and clerks need to be in LCR in standard positions related to their callings. And in MLS, they need to have Finance privileges. If either of these two are missing, a counselor or clerk will not be able to authorize a donations batch.

Another thing to check is to make sure the counselors have standard positions and not custom positions. This can be checked either in CDOL, where a custom position appears in orange font while standard positions are in black font, or in Leader and Clerk Resources (LCR), where the custom position will have an asterisk (*) in front of the position title.

There also may be a disconnect between MLS and CDOL where MLS does not reflect what is in CDOL. In this case try a unit data refresh to get MLS and CDOL synchronized.

You could try deleting the MLS user account that's not working and add it from scratch. Instructions for adding a user account in MLS are here:

You might also check to make sure that the Stake has them listed in those positions. I have found over the years that it doesn't matter what position you list them in at the Ward level, the Stake has to have them listed in the correct position for them to have proper privileges.

The only ward calling that the stake is able to enter is that of Bishop.
