deleting entries that are incorrect

#1

Post by MaryMick »

Hello,

I entered the incorrect information on my father's family. Someway I entered the information for my mother's family instead. How can my father's family tree be deleted so that I can enter the information correctly. Mary

If you now have duplicates, you can merge them. If you now have someone attached to the wrong family member, you can move them to the correct family. If you simply have incorrect data, you can delete it or use the record history to restore the record to its prior state before you made the changes. Each of these have different steps so if you need additional assistance you can post what you want to do here, or use the help links in Family Search to request assistance (see the help options on the upper right corner of the FamilySearch screen).

There is an option in the Tools box on the right side of the screen to completely delete a person if the entire record is in error but if they are just in the wrong place I would advise one of the other options above.
