Financial Clerk with limited access
What are the considerations with a financial Clerk with no access to LCR? (This is only theoretical at this point)
He has been approved , called and set apart by the Stake
He would go through or view any training that is available
He would be given an MLS account and only serve as a back up processing batches on Sunday
He would not be involved in any expenses or disbursements
Looking for your insight before going any further

Re: Financial Clerk with limited access
In order to authorize a donation batch in MLS, the user must also hold a calling (recorded in LCR) which provides finance rights. So he would not be able to authorize a batch unless recorded in LCR with a Assistant Ward Clerk-Finance or Assistant Ward Clerk calling which will also provide rights to the Finance portion of LCR.
So there is no way to authorize a batch without also having rights to LCR Finance. Now, if the issue is that this clerk does not have access to a computer at home to access LCR there, then that shouldn't be a problem. Everything can be done on the unit computer if necessary.

Thanks. I’m an executive secretary and the last time I was a financial Clerk we used MLS but there was no LCR. I was not aware that now LCR and MLS are linked.

The question I have is how many finance clerks will you end up with? According to this post, wards will soon be limited to one.

Yes we are aware however this person would not be a financial clerk.
Again this is just a thought at this time but I was thinking about creating a custom calling, something along the lines of donation assistant.

Custom callings have no rights. If you create a custom calling called "donation assistant," he won't be able to do anything with donations.wrigjef wrote:Yes we are aware however this person would not be a financial clerk.

Re: Financial Clerk with limited access
I know custom callings have no rights in LCR. I was thinking that perhaps it was possible to have access to MLS without having access to LCR. If the two are linked or if batches are processed in LCR now then I have my answer.

Re: Financial Clerk with limited access
The rights in MLS is also based on calling. Its no longer just the rights on the MLS login. If you want him to do donations, he will have to have the right calling.

Re: Financial Clerk unable to process donations
Our recently called Ward financial clerk is able to open MLS, but unable to process donations after donations have been input. He is also denied access to LCR. Is there a tie between the two issues? What is the remedy?
