Garment question

#1

Post by hollytonnies »

A ward member is in a medical facility for awhile. They do laundry for the patients but insist on writing the patients initials on all clothing. Is this ok for garments? Thanks you

This would be a good question to ask your local bishop. If it were me, my opinion is that it would be OK, if done respectfully (neat writing, not too big, in a less-visible area). I think it's important to not put an undue burden on caretakers who might not understand the meaning of the garments (not that you shouldn't try to explain the importance of the garment, but you don't want it to be something negative for them that extends to negativity towards the Church or the member). It's also important that the garments are returned to the correct owner.
