Tracking Missionaries from 1981/1982

Post by JayJay321 »

I am trying to track missionaries from 1981..mostly likely 1982 that served in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission, but were assigned to serve transfers in Jamaica. A mission was not yet established in Jamaica, until 1984, hence missionaries being sent from Florida FLD Mission.
I do not have much information on these Elders at all, except that they were Caucasian, mostly likely all American, and there were 3 of them..they were serving in a trio, in an area of Jamaica called ‘Portmore’. These elders were serving between May-July. We’ve been trying to track these Elders, because they taught my mother..who left Jamaica and was not baptised until 30+ years later.

I just returned from serving my mission in Jamaica, and tried to get this information myself, but was told to contact the FFLD mission. The current mission president told me to contact salt lake missionary department. After one lady was willing to help, she directed me to another number, which that lady told me it is again Church Policy to release information of names and previous missionary. I am also aware of this same question on other threads here. Is there any other known way to track missionaries from this time? Or anyone that knows any leads for me to follow or contact someone/somewhere to lead me closer to success in finding them?

Thank you, thank you!!!!

Your best bet is doing a web search for missionary "alumni" sites or Facebook groups.
