I am a stake assistant technology specialist and 1st counselor of the bishopric. Is my understanding correct that only the STS can setup the ward accounts then? The letter sent today made it seem that each ward technology specialist could set it up. I do not see the Zoom option when I access the meet.churchofjesuschris.org link provided in the letter posted today.

As was mentioned, you'll only see the Zoom option if you're an STS. My stake has 8 wards, so my limit is 9 accounts. The "Unit" dropdown has the stake name plus all 8 wards listed. I can create one account per ward and assign an email address to it. Each account created needs a unique email address, so the best option might be for a ward to create their own email/gmail address to use for this. Give that email address to the STS and he can create a Zoom account for you.

Yes, only an individual with the Stake Assistant Clerk - Technology Specialist calling can create Zoom accounts. There is an Assistant Technology Specialist calling, individuals with this calling cannot active accounts.

For this system, the calling should be visible almost immediately after it is recorded. There is typically a delay of 100 to 150 milliseconds unless there is an issue with one of the intermediate systems.

OK, well then it is not working for me then. I am the Stake Clerk and I also have the STS calling and when I go to the meet site, all I get is the "Congratulations, your new Google Account is available!" I do not have any options to create the zoom accounts.

Thanks for your help

Your STS calling has been in the system since 11:40 Mountain time. I'm not sure if having 2 callings is causing the issue.

I am the Stake Executive Secretary and I was sent the activation by my stake STS. I was able to activate my account; however, when I try to log in to zoom now with that account it says "You cannot log into your Zoom account using this method. Contact your IT administrator for instructions. (2,025)". Any suggestions?

It does appear as though having multiple callings assigned to a single individual is causing some issues in the account creation process. We are working on resolving this. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Anyone figured out the following error yet?

Error
System cannot find the church units you are associated with. Please try again later.

I notice the direction for transferring a church account requires inputting the existing email as the new church account. If this is a personal email address, that would seem to create long-term issues as callings change and members move.
