Announcement: IOTConnect SSID

#1

Post by bretbassett »

Technology Specialists, After August 16th you will notice that a new SSID “IOTConnect” will begin broadcasting in the Meetinghouse. This is in addition to Liahona and Lehi. You will also see a new IoT Group Policy in TM. These are only for select stakes that are participating in a BETA test of various IOT devices being installed in their meetinghouse. Please do not call the GSD to gain access. The GSD will not have the passcode for the IOTConnect SSID. More information will be sent to you at a future date once this new SSID and Group Policy are ready for worldwide use.

I am not sure about others, but when the Beta IOTConnect showed up in our server connections, Lehi was removed. Did anyone else have this same issue?

No. But if the password for Lehi isn't changed every 90 days, then it will disappear.

It can also be turned off manually.

We have Liahona and IOT but not Lehi anymore either. I am not sure when Lehi disappeared. Our printer is linked to the Liahona network so we always use that one.

I would check and see if the Lehi password expired. If it expired it will not show as an available network. Once you put in a new password it will be available again.

The Lehi password lasts 90 days.

The Lehi password is in a building-by-building bases. They can have different passwords and expire at different times. Some building may have Lehi, some may not.

My guess is that it would need the stake president to volunteer. And most likely it involves the FM group, not the members in it's usage, given that IOT usually means things related to the building and not member devices.
