Well, since I do not exactly know when the Second Coming will take place . . . [grin]
CDOL has always required a login and password and contains sensitive information that is only intended to be available to certain leaders. In another topic it was said that CDOL is being moved from being a public facing site into the Leader and Clerk Resources area. That would provide validation of the current calling held by the person desiring to access the resource.
I have a login and password from a long time ago when I served in a calling that clearly needed access to the information. As much as I would like to be able to continue using CDOL, I am wondering whether my current calling really requires it. I expect I will know how the Church feels about that very soon.
In another forum topic, a Church employee mentioned that the change is being made as quickly as possible. Since that post, there was the general conference hiatus, along with the meltdown of several other key tools including LCR/F, Membership, the quarterly report, MLS, the patriarchal blessing system, and I am not in the know about what else or how extensive the problem was. But I am certain it is taking time away from establishing a new home for CDOL in LCR.
While I cannot speak for headquarters, I am sure they realize that a lot of phone calls from bishops, clerks, and other priesthood leaders will go away as soon as they make it available again. My guess is that the timeline will be closer to weeks, rather than that wonderful date in the future where we may not even need computers at all.
Again, just my opinion. I have no real insight. I just know that a lot of folks hope it happens soon.
