Language Audio

#1

Post by tylerstromberg »

With the newest update (5.3.2 on Aug 24) the language audio for trying to listen to a passage of scripture is horrible. Instead of being an actual speaker of that language reading the passage, it is now a robotic English voice that obviously doesn't pronounce words how they are meant to be read. How can I go back to the old version of the app to fix this?

It sounds you have text-to-speed (TTS) enabled instead of the human recordings. That happens automatically when you're not connected to the Internet if you don't have the scriptures downloaded. It also happens if the settings are set to do that.

Open the Gospel Library. Go to the scriptures. Click the headphones in the circle in the lower right corner. Click the three stacked dots in the upper right corner of the thing that appears. Click audio settings. Click where it says Main Voice. Select any option besides Text-to-Speech. Then, as long as you're connected to the Internet, or else have the audio scriptures downloaded, you should hear the human voices.

Alternatively, if you have a third-party media player, perhaps you can listen to (stream) the scriptures with the M3U playlist files I attached in the following post (this also requires an Internet connection):
