Airplay on Samsung Smart TVs - keep it working

Looking for someone who is using Airplay on their meetinghouse Samsung smart TV and able to keep it connected to Liahona network?

The ipad/android tablet savvy RS instructors want to cast from their devices. Airplay for iOS and Mac devices is built into the Samsung TV, but it appears Airplay requires the TV and casting device be connected to the same wifi network. Worked great when I tested it, I was able to connect the Samsung Smart TV to the Liahona and accept the Liahona portal page from the TV browser.

Today it will not work. Even after reseting the network connection on the TV the Liahona portal page never loads when going to the browser, and so Airplay does not work at all. .The TV does connect to Liahona but does not get internet . Thus it is not getting past the portal page. I can not bring it up on the TVs built in browser, but I could the other day. I have powered down TV (unplug from wall) etc. I have hacked at it for a couple of hours tonight and getting nowhere.

Has anyone had success getting airplay to work consistently on the Liahona network with a Samsung Smart TV?

Otherwise it is back to HDMI cables and handful of adapters for all the devices.

Ask the stake technology specialist to add the TV to the nosplash group in Church Network Manager (previously known as Technology Manager). That will bypass the splashscreen when it connects to Liahona.

Dealing with the splash screen should only be needed if the TV needs to talk to the internet. If the traffic is strictly between devices on the network, that shouldn't be needed.

Note that the TV will have to be on and obtained an IP from the network for the STS to add it to the NoSplash policy. He may need help in identifying the device.

Ya it appears from my experience and from reading online that in order for airplay to work the devices have to be on the same network.
