Sacrament cups?

#1

Post by dmarcelino »

Maybe I'm missing something- but when I search for sacrament cups to buy at store.lds.org I get nothing. I'm pretty sure this is where I've purchased them previosuly. Does anyone have any ideas?

They are available on store.lds.org. Select Unit Materials in the lower right of the home page and it's the 3rd option in the middle of the screen. But it's possible that it only shows up for certain callings. I'm an assistant clerk and I can see if. I assume that ward clerks and bishopric members would be able to order them as well.

You have to be logged in with an authorized LDS Account to see unit supplies like sacrament cups. Clicking on "Unit Materials" routes you through the sign-in page, which is why unit supplies show up after clicking through. If you're already logged in, those items will show up in search without clicking on Unit Materials.

This is a user-to-user discussion forum. Nobody here can order sacrament cups for your unit.

How have the cups been ordered in the past? If nobody knows how they have been ordered in the past and there aren't instructions in any training materials and there isn't anything in LCR about ordering sacrament cups, please ask your district, stake, or mission clerks or leaders.

I believe cups are ordered from the store. However, they're not likely to come very quickly. Mosesjohnkoroma is going to have to borrow from another ward until the order comes in.

That's correct.
Store -> Units & Callings -> Wards, Branches, Stakes, and Districts -> Sacrament -> Sacrament Cups

As an option to avoid running out in the future, when I served as clerk, I always kept enough spare sacrament cups in the clerk's office to hold us over for about a month (with 3 wards in our building, that was 10 bags out of the box). The Young Men are terrible at reporting they are almost out of cups and we usually wouldn't know until Sunday just before sacrament meeting when they were trying to prepare the sacrament... This way, I was able to provide the needed cups and still had time to get more sent in before we were actually out. Obviously, each unit will need to consider their ship time in assessing how many they need to keep in reserve to avoid running out.
