I have a member that our bishopric have been trying for the past two years to cancel her sealing with her previous spouse, so that she can be sealed to her current spouse.
The previous Bishop had been able to send the application up to the Stake level last year, but I just noticed today that it was showing within my "Confidential Records" on my Leader homepage. I checked and everything is complete but the "Send to Stake President" button is now blocked.
The "error" message that has shows within the sealing cancelation application is:
You can work on this application for cancellation of sealing, but it cannot be submitted until the divorce is final, all legal issues related to the divorce have been resolved, and the divorce has been recorded in Leader and Clerk Resources.
The divorce certificate has already been attached, all legal issues have been resolved... but we are thinking that the divorce needs to be recorded in the member's information within her membership. The problem is that the previous spouse is no longer connected to this member - she is currently married and the current spouse is showing within her membership information... so any edits made (i.e. divorce) will occur to the current marriage. How would I be able to record the divorce from a previous spouse?

Re: Record a divorce from a previous spouse
You'll have to contact the Global Service Department. You can't modify anything about a previous marriage after a new marriage has been recorded.
