Hello all,
I have a member in my ward who is a temple sealer and worker. When he goes to do a shift in the temple and they scan his recommend, it says no appointment. He said other temple workers scan their recommends and it scans to say they are temple workers. My member doesn't want to constantly explain that he is there for a shift. Will adding a custom calling of Temple Ordinance Worker to his ward callings fix this? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Custom callings don't grant any rights for anything to anyone. That won't help. I'm not sure, but I think there is something the temple needs to do so it shows when he scans his recommend. There may be someone with experience in the temple system who can chime in as to the likely problem.

No, there is nothing you are able to do. It all depends on how the temple has entered his assignments in the Temple Information System. His temple recorder or a member of the temple presidency should be able to make any necessary adjustment.Walkerbear21 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 02, 2023 4:34 pm Will adding a custom calling of Temple Ordinance Worker to his ward callings fix this?
In the meantime, the only thing the worker(s) at the recommend desk should be saying is, "Welcome to the temple." If they ask him what he is there to do, he can simply say that he is there for his regular shift.

Thanks. I didn't think so either. The member asked the temple recorder to contact SLC and see why this was. Who knows when that would be addressed. I just thought I would give it a try and see if anyone had any ideas. Thanks for your input!
