Phone Number and Meeting Times on local.churchofjesuschrist.org Pages

Looking for recommendations on the phone number to show on the local.churchofjesuschrist.org pages for our buildings. In the YEXT training we were told this should be a number where people can get further information. It doesn't have to always be answered live but should be checked for messages at least daily. We were also cautioned about using a member's personal number and told the Church was looking into providing numbers with voicemail that could be used for this purpose. Our area support has no update on that effort. What are stakes doing to fulfill this requirement? The pages for our stake defaulted to numbers for old land lines or pay phones that are no longer in service so we're anxious to get them updated to numbers that work.

The current design of the pages on local.churchofjesuschrist.org does not offer unit names or meeting times but invites visitors to call the number for further information. Right now visitors cannot do that for our buildings because none of the phone numbers are in service. Even if they were, that seems like an extra step that many prospective visitors to our services would not bother with. Has any consideration been given to displaying the information from the meetinghouse locator functions found on the main Church website and on comeuntochrist.org on the local.churchofjesuschrist.org page for each building? It is already publicly available and would save visitors a step. It would also ensure the information is consistent between websites.

I've put these questions to our area contact for YEXT with little success. I'm hoping someone here may have more information or perhaps a manager for these applications can offer some guidance.

I wonder if the local missionaries' phone number could be used (generally missionary phone numbers stay with the area – they don't transfer with the missionary).

You're assuming they're any better. The Meetinghouse locator isn't showing any phone numbers for my stake as none of the wards have phones. All it offers is to "send a message" to the bishop.

You're probably stuck with no numbers until something comes out. In the interim, I would suggest you have clerks log into the CDOL page and remove any non-functioning phone lines. No point in having outdated information floating around frustrating people.

Regarding the use of the missionary phone numbers, in our YEXT training we were told we should make only limited use of the missionary phone numbers and another option is preferred.

The information I would like to get from the meetinghouse locator for the local.churchofjesuschrist.org pages is the names of the units that meet in the building and the time of their Sacrament meeting. This would save visitors from having to call someone to get it and would ensure consistency between the various Church websites.

It's possible it wasn't done due to lack of resources to meet a timeline, or it might have been a distrust in that information. Not all wards are good at updating their information when things change.

The local.churchofjesuschrist pages for the UK are just a total disaster. Some buildings are listed under country, some under county and some by city but there is no standardized way to find the location you're looking for.

That's before you even look at the opening times (all showing (9am-6pm) and contact info (non-existent)

No information is usually better than bad information.

Ours is all over the place. Each meetinghouse in the stake has a different mobile/cellular phone number listed, in two cases the same phone number is also linked to a meetinghouse in a different state. No idea who the other one is for.
