Can't Add Church Record Number

A member logged into familysearch.org with her Church account (as opposed to her Family Search account), but her account didn't have the "Temple" link. She tried to add her church record number in Family Search to make the "Temple" link appear, but when she did, she got the following message: "It looks like you already have a member account. Exit this account and try to sign in to your member account." The issue is she was already in her Church (aka member) account. How can she fix this issue?

Chances are that she's using a Church Account that doesn't have her membership record number attached. She could try signing out of FamilySearch, then go to Account.ChurchofJesusChrist.org > Membership and add her membership record number there. If it gives the same error, she probably has two Church Accounts, and she'll need to contact the Global Service Department to get them merged. After her Church Account has her membership record number attached, then she can try using her Church Account to sign into FamilySearch again.

Did she click on the church logo to the right of apple logo before logging in? If not, then she logged into a FS account that was copied from her church account when the two systems were separated some time back.

That strongly suggests there's another FS account that has her MRN. She could try the "Forgot username" link on the FS login page.

As a quick solution, I'd suggest she makes sure to click the church logo on FS before using her church login. If that doesn't work, she's probably going to have to call FS support to fix her FS account.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
