Mobile Indexing

Post by seth.wagenman »

Is anyone working on a mobile application for indexing? It might help people with only a few minutes to spare contribute to the effort, like vineyard.churchofjesuschrist.org used to (now defunct):

The church ended the mobile version several years ago because was too labor intensive to set up individual fields for the index (as I understand). One can index today using Web Indexing, though I wouldn't advise it on a phone or small tablet. It really works better when a keyboard is available for data entry.

You could provide feedback from the web-indexing page. You might receive a response on whether they are considering a new method, or you might not.

At FamilySearch.org there is an Indexing menu item in the ribbon near the top of the page.

Note that Indexing has been moved from the top ribbon. It is now an item under Get Involved
