Windows 11 - Provisioning Taking 12+ HOURS

EDIT: I am blind. Even though I’ve read through the https://tech.churchofjesuschrist.org/w ... k_Computer directions a dozen times, read step 5 with me… “5. Click the “Continue Anyway” button as soon as it appears. The system will complete some tasks, reboot, and automatically login to an account called ChurchSupport. Skip to Step 8.”

Hello. I have received 5 new Lenovo ThinkCentre PCs for several of the units in the stake. All of these Lenovo ThinkCentre PCs came preinstalled with Windows 11 and have been automatically set up to provision out of the box. The out of the box provisioning consists of 3 steps, the initial step is device prep and that goes by in a few minutes with no faults. The next step (device setup) is where both computers have run into major issues and slowdowns. It will sit at the "Apps (working on it...)" stage for at least 12 hours a piece. I left two computers to run overnight and came back in the morning hoping to finalize the installation and have the computers completed. There was no forward momentum. I ended up clicking on "continue anyways" and running the self-provisioning tool, which did not ever fully complete due to the computer automatically and failing at the same point. I ended up installing Google Chrome and setting the localclerk password for them, enough to get them by for Sunday meetings and their needs.

Does this provisioning / setup really take 12+ hours to complete? There has to be a quicker way to do this...

Just guessing, but did they have internet access during the setup? I'm wondering if it got hung attempting to download something.

Using WiFi can be iffy due to the splash screen on Liahona.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

Yeah! They were plugged into Ethernet from the beginning. Thank you for the quick response.

The instructions at the Church website say to click the Continue anyway button as soon as it appears. I was provisioning boxes that came with Windows 10, and they stopped at the same place until I clicked Continue anyway. The rest of the provisioning worked, in my case.

I’ve gone through those instructions several times, does it really say to click that? Goodness sake.

Edit: it does. Step 5 in bold letters. I’m blind.

Don't feel bad. I just didn't wait as long as you did when nothing seemed to be happening before I went looking for help. And it had been a while since I loaded up a new box. I added a note to my own checklist as a reminder for next time.
