Dedication of Business establishment
Does a new business establishment or a newly rented one needs dedication?

I can find no such ordnance in Handbook 2 or the Duties and Blessings of the Priesthood: Basic Manual for Priesthood Holders.
Blessing of homes, yes.

Re: Dedication of Business establishment
I was asked to 'Dedicate' a business of a friend of mine.
While I have found no official information on how to go about doing so, I am planning on simply saying a prayer, and offer up
the words that come into my head.
I hope it works.

I think "dedication" is the wrong word as it wouldn't be dedicated unto the Lord. "Blessing" would be more appropriate.
You might want to look at Dedicating Buildings in the Meetinghouse Facilities Handbook especially the part about "Leased meetinghouses" to see what I mean.
As far as not being in the Handbook, I can't find "Blessing of the food" in there either.

I would think of it more like dedicating a home, which is also not dedicated to the Lord (see General Handbook 18.15) but still uses the terminology dedicating/dedication.russellhltn wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 2:00 pm I think "dedication" is the wrong word as it wouldn't be dedicated unto the Lord. Quite interesting. GHB 18.2 and 18.3 are clear in listing the "other [priesthood] ordinances and blessings", which specifically include dedicating homes and graves. Yet obviously other edifices (meetinghouses, temples) and places (countries for the preaching of the gospel) are dedicated, even if not listed in the Handbook. Since places of business aren't mentioned, this doesn't seem like something the regular church membership would dedicate, or for that matter even give any kind of priesthood blessing. But I wholeheartedly agree that offering a prayer in faith that the Lord preserve and watch over a place, is in keeping with Alma 34 and the counsel to pray over our flocks and our crops in all our fields.
