recording Standard works from CD to SD
I bought a "Wonder Bible" player which loads and plays King James Bible from a mini sd card. I would like to try to transfer the standard works to sd so I can play them on the wonder bible player. Any advice?

Sounds like you'd be in for some reverse engineering--unless somebody has already done the reverse engineering for you, or if the manufacturer has provided documentation on storage format, file format, audio format, how the firmware looks at the storage, etc.
If you take the SD card out of the device and look at it via a computer, what does it look like? Does it has storage partitions in DOS or GPT format? Does it have files you can look at? Is the audio format something standard (like maybe MP3) or something proprietary and specific to the device?
There are tools to convert between CD audio and various audio formats, including MP3. On Linux, I have used mpg123.

As long as you're doing it for yourself and not redistributing the content, I don't think there's a problem.rmrichesjr wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 6:41 pm Copyright issues for audio scripture CDs supplied by the Church are outside my area of expertise.

Would that be a… "Marvelous Work and a Wonder Bible"?
Sounds like a fun project! Based on this article, it seems like it should be possible, but will require some hacking:

If you manage to do so, be sure to report back!
You can download the standard works in bulk audio here:

If the MP3 files take up too much space, you can probably reduce the size by stripping out embedded album art. Or maybe you can re-encode the audio files at 1.25x audio speed.
