The extreme irony is that some of those who should get the suggested email are not getting church emails due to the ongoing problem.caillines wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 6:25 pmIt might be worth getting approval for the LCR team to send a bulk mail to Stake Presidencies, Bishoprics, and Clerks with this information. No. It only unsubscribes you from the listed newsletters and notifications. LCR uses your individual email address (not household) that is recorded on your membership record.arne wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 12:04 pm In the link https://account.churchofjesuschrist.org/subscriptions there is an "Unsubscribe from All" option - does this also prevent "Send a Message" from sending to that email address or does the member need to delete their email address from the system?

Mike, I just wanted to say thank you for providing us with an update on the problem and what your team is doing to resolve it. We understand it's not an easy problem to tackle. Looking forward to hearing an update next month!mseawrig wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 8:22 am To Andrew and all who have experienced email not going to Yahoo.com email accounts from LCR.
I'm the product manager for the Church's email infrastructure that delivers the LCR messages to the internet email service providers. A little over a year ago Yahoo and other Verizon owned email domains started to blacklist us or severely throttle us. The biggest issue was that the Church had a lot of bad email addresses we were sending to. We've worked with the team that manages that database and we've made a lot of progress, but unfortunately, it hasn't cleared up our reputation yet with Yahoo. We are working on deploying a new solution during December to hopefully fix this once and for all.
What we need from all Stake Technology Specialists, Ward and Stake Clerks, Bishoprics, etc. is to have you encourage ward members to keep their email addresses updated at account.churchofjesuschrist.org. Once in the site, go to Contact Settings > email address and make sure your address is correct. While there, go into Email Subscriptions and uncheck any of those notifications you do not want to receive. Please subscribe only if you intend to use the settings.
The two biggest things that hurt our email reputation is bad addresses and emails that are never opened and deleted. The worst thing is when our messages are reported as spam. Please help us improve our reputation by encouraging your members to follow good email practices.
I'll try to add a post to the system when we go live with the new solution. We could use a few prayers to help this be successful.

Re: Yahoo email is blocking emails from local church units.
Your post has been merged into an existing thread. As you can tell, the church is aware of the blockage. In particular, you may want to read this message from the product manager.gwvest wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 11:30 pm Yahoo email is blocking emails from local church units.
Back in Sept I noticed that I stopped receiving emails from my ward for Sacrament Programs and Ward Bulletins as far back as July 2022.
I asked the Bishopric if they knew anything about it and they said that other members with Yahoo accounts were saying the same thing, so I setup a new Gmail account and updated my email in LDS tools with the new email address.

Is there an update on this situation? I have a member with an AOL email address who was receiving emails fine in August but stopped receiving them in September. We've done all the standard verifications that get email address is in the right place on her church account and that it isn't going into her spam folder.

I'm having issues at the moment too with but with some non-aol addresses. I'm trying to work out the cause, could you let me know the following:docmagik wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 6:58 pm Is there an update on this situation? - Does it work if you do the "send a message" with her as the only recipient?
- Is she the only one that it is not working for?
- Is there a difference between emails with and without attachments?

Re: LCR “Send a Message” application NOT sending to yahoo.com accounts
Just from watching the messages, it seems like the issues are ward specific. I'm suspecting that someone on the domain flagged the emails as spam and now all the email from that ward (or perhaps from that individual sender) are flagged as spam for everyone on that email domain.
If true, I don't know as there's anything that can done other than being careful that the emails are not too frequent and not being sent to those who no longer want contact.

Re: LCR “Send a Message” application NOT sending to yahoo.com accounts
What needs to be done seems to be out of reach to everyone in the Church. We need direct contact to the administrators of the LCR system either via phone number, ticketing system, or email. They are the only ones who can resolve this. As an email administrator, I know what needs to be done, but am powerless to make any progress because email communication, like all communication is two-way.
I am unable to recieve messages that are sent via LCR, yet my son is. This suggests to me that the Church has some kind of internal blacklist upon which my email address has been placed. Whenever someone sends me a message via LCR, they receive the following notice:
How do we get in touch with Church email administrators? Church LCR administrators? If this is not possible, why?

Which server? The email address has been verified to work. What next? Is there anyone in the Church who would like to step up to the plate and proffer information about this? Usually when a "server" rejects a message, there is a reason given. So what's the reason for this? The operation of LCR is too opaque to be useful at this time. The recipients below were rejected by the server. Please verify their email addresses.

Re: LCR “Send a Message” application NOT sending to yahoo.com accounts
Would you be willing to answer some very specific technical questions about how LCR works and why my son can receive emails from LCR but I and my wife cannot?
Thanks.

Re: LCR “Send a Message” application NOT sending to yahoo.com accounts
Regarding your bullet items, I believe that number one isn't really relevant (at least it hasn't been in my testing).caillines wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 6:36 pm I'm having issues at the moment too with but with some non-aol addresses. Bullet number 2 is definitely relevant. I believe that there is an internal blacklist maintained by the Church. I cannot prove it, but everything that I've done in my testing suggests that it exists. E.g. two people who use the exact same email domain, but only one can receive the LCR messages, the other cannot.
Bullet number 3 is also relevant. There is a huge difference between messages with and without attachments, because there exists an inconvenient bug in how LCR attaches emails:
