Missionary Accounts
I reach out to each missionary family in our ward every month and let them know the status of their missionary accounts. I try to wait to do it until after the $400 has been taken out of their accounts each month. I noticed that the church has NOT taken out the $400 the past two months (Nov & Oct of 2024). Why is this not happening and are the families going to need to plan to have that money (now $800) eventually taken out?

Re: Missionary Accounts
Looking at wards in our stake, our wards were all charged for October on the 3rd. But we haven't had an charges in November. I suspect that the November charges have just been delayed and will show up sometime soon. But for October, if you haven't been charged for any missionaries who are still in the field I'd call or message the global service department and ask why not. As for telling families what to expect, I think they should expect to pay for those months like normal (unless the missionary came home the previous month in which case it will be a pro-rated amount).nashjohnson wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 4:30 pm I reach out to each missionary family in our ward every month and let them know the status of their missionary accounts. Re: Missionary Accounts
I contacted the GSD this afternoon about this. They are aware of the issue and it is being worked on. The problem developed after a programming update in late September that went wrong; the connectivity with the finance system was broken. They are hoping to get it fixed this week or maybe next week. But since they have been working on it for nearly seven weeks the fix could be even as late as next month. Once it is fixed then the back due amounts will be withdrawn from the missionary categories.

Re: Missionary Accounts
Unless the missionaries are reaching the end of their mission, the amount is known. That should be enough information to collect what's needed rather than waiting. If they are reaching the end, a call to support should get you the amount.

No October MIssionary Commitment Deduction
We have still not had any deductions for any of our missionaries, for October or November now. Any updates anyone has received?

I've merged your post to a more relevant thread, as the one you used was from 2 years ago. This is a known problem.

Re: Missionary Accounts
Thanks JD for looking into this for us all. I guess I could have just called, but maybe they appreciate if fewer people are calling. That's partly why I was using this forum hoping that someone else already had the answer.jdlessley wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 2:40 pm I contacted the GSD this afternoon about this.
