Bishop not able to approve expenses

#1

Post by erichiku68 »

Lately, our bishop has been having problems approving expenses. It's coming up with an error message (There was an error with your submission! Username or password incorrect or user does not have permission). Bishop has cleared the cache and cookies in his browser as instructed by GSD but is still getting the same error. Do you have any ideas on what he can do to fix this problem?

Thanks so much.

Does he have more than one calling recorded in Leader and Clerk Resources? If so, maybe one of his callings with less access is taking priority in the system.

No only one calling.

Has he tried incognito mode? It might be our old friend, the cookie buildup problem.

If not, try a different browser or machine.

Not sure if you'll be checking back on this thread, but just to confirm, he was not able to use his account to approve expenses on his personal computer, but was able to do that successfully on the clerk's computer?

If that's the case, I'd encourage the Bishop to keep working at resolving the issue with his personal computer. I know from experience that sometimes these visible things can be indicators of other less-visible issues. For example, I had a case where I wasn't seeing an alert in LCRF because there was some kind of cookie/cache issue that suppressed it somehow, and never knew about it until it "magically" started appearing when I resolved a different access issue. Just my two cents ;)

Yes, he's still having issues with this on his personal computer and even incognito mode is not working for him. I've copied and pasted your reply into his messenger. Thanks so much.

What browser is he using? I'd think he'd have the best chance with a browser based on Chromium.

He might try another browser. Her may have a tweaked setting (for security) that's causing the problem.

We have been told by the GSD there is a known issue affecting all leaders in LCR Finance. The workaround provided was to sign-in to LCR Finance with the username in ALL CAPS. This workaround has worked for Bishop, but not one of his counselors. Try it, YMMV.

That's interesting. I wonder if the bishop's username was entered in all caps when he created his account (something the GSD might be able to see on their end), so putting it in all caps would match his real username more closely.
