Clerks Chrombook #NoGoogleDocs?

#1

Post by Rahnjensen »

Recently was made the clerk, this is all new to me, however our ward recently moved from the windows environment to a chomebook. Fine most of LCR doesn't care what environment it is in. However our ward maintains quite a bit of organization and structure using google docs. Which are not allowed on the chrome book. Is it just us? or is this a church wide policy? I put a request in and haven't been responded to. Just wondering if there is something obvious that I am missing, or a solution that is available.

We are seeing the same thing, unable to utilize the existing account. Also filed a request to learn more and it sounded like a surprise that it didn't work correctly, as there are many out there.

But no resolution yet. Wanted to switch back to pc's but apparently requires a warranty event to do so. They perform fine, and like the self cleaning setup, but its a little difficult to use in the current state when trying to access existing google account.

Hopefully they can find a way to improve it.

We were also a bit surprised to have no calculator app already or even in the "approved apps list" so having to use a cloud based one

This 2023 Forum thread asks the same basic question, with some helpful info:
Chromebooks; Google Drive and Gmail
