Transfers between units
We had a family (with a missionary in the field) move out of state about 6 months ago. The missionary department has still been removing the funds from our local ward missionary account. Our Bishop has recently spoken with both their Bishop and the help desk about transferring the missionary commitment to the new ward, and their bishop has agreed to transfer funds to our ward to zero out her (now negative) missionary account. Does anyone know how to actually transfer funds between units? I don't see that option in the web portal.

There is no need to transfer funds from unit to unit using the LCR Finance Transfer Funds method. Instead the bishops should have agreed to an effective date for the transfer of financial responsibility. From what you posted it sounds as if that was not communicated to support. It can still be done by contacting support again and having the effective date for the financial responsibility updated. Once that is done then headquarters will make the adjustments to each of the ward's missionary categories accordingly.

Thanks for your reply. I was with our Bishop last Sunday as he sent the request through the missionary portal, but I didn't see anywhere to set the effective date. I'll keep an eye on the missionary accounts and see what happens.

Was it done in the Missionary Portal or in the Missionary Online Recommendation System? Our last transfer was done a number of years ago and the method/user interface may have changed.

Since it sounds like the transfer has been done, you'll probably have to call to get the effective date changed.
