Unable to move events between calendars

Post by martinglass »

It appears that until recently (last two months or so), that events could be moved between calendars. This was very useful when assigning events on a Stake President's calendar to his counselors' calendars (ie. for interviews). Now this is no longer possible, and the only way to assign them is to re-create the event. At the same time, the ability to copy an event was also removed.
What is the reasoning behind this? It is now very inconvenient to have to re-create manually a calendar event in another calendar, or to manually create another similar event that would be more efficiently done by using the copy feature.

Thanks,
Martin

It looks like it only affects events on a private calendar. Events on non-private calendars can be moved. They can even be moved to a private calendar. But once private, it can no longer be moved.

I'd imagine it was a security concern to prevent private events from accidently being made public.

Yes, I have imagined that was the reason.
However, the restriction would be better handled by preventing that occurrence, than by shutting down all movement, as well as copying.

I submitted a GSD request and was advised to use the Feedback form to send the issue to the Calendar team. There is only the generic site feedback form, so we'll see where that goes... (I'm not hopeful)
