PH & RS lessons

#1

Post by thomasjking »

i have been posting the gospel doctrine lessons to our web site---the rs pres wants me to do the same for the RS---however this is a function that only can be done by the Stake admin people
the "gos.doc." has a nice pull down and pick feature----Does the PR & RS lessons have the same function on the stake level? i cant see at the local level.
also in the past our stake RS pres has someone to make a list of the lessons for the sisters & then the list gets passed on to the priesthood secondhand.
I wish i could enter the lessons at the local level
Got any ideas?
thanks

Yes.

Send email to your stake admin (or send feedback from your ward admin "green screen") asking for that to be filled in. I'm guessing there's a policy reason that it's to be done at the stake level and not the ward level.

Another option would be to add them as an activity for each Sunday or as information in the news/information part of the website. You might have to do that anyway, as sometimes the TFOT (Teachings for our times) lessons (4th Sunday) may be selected by your Bishop and not the Stake, so it will vary from ward to ward.

And, YES, the stake admin has a pull down menu the same as the ward gospel doctrine lessons. I also advise sending feedback to the stake admin requesting that that function be implemented. The RS/Priesthood lessons are designated by the Stake (at least the last two I have been in this last year).

I started a [thread=136]thread before[/thread] ....
it only got one response.

In my opinion, if it were made to where it could be maintained at the ward level and not the stake level, then it could be fine tuned to fit that ward's needs because of conferences, etc. I've had people mention that they wished they could see the PH/RS Lesson Schedule online as well.

I thought this could be improved in my stake also. I followed up on it and guess what....presto I am now one of the Stake Web Admins. So be careful what you ask for <grin>

My other concern with this is I think there should be a way for wards to make moderations. Particularly in my ward our Bishop decided to swap our 3rd and 4th Sunday lessons. Perhaps have a way for the wards to make edits and then show both the stake and ward when they differ.
